Maurice looking pretty sad about life.
Trying to imitate a 101 Dalmations look. A little harder than initially thought, but definitely fun.
Winny is being cute as hell.
It was 1am last night, and I was ABOUT to go to bed, when I happened to see something in my dropbox folder.
It was a character from a sketchbook from around 2001. It was awful. I had to redraw her.
So have a 30 minute sketch of Amaya.
The in-progress turnaround of Maurice.
senior film senior film senior film prep prep prep.
I think I forgot to advertise this, but “Inkyfingersanimation” is the tumblr I made that is solely to show the progress of my senior film.
Seeing as that is -all- the work I’m doing right now, there will be a lot of mirroring between that and this blog.
Bear Hobo pissed about something.
I’m also the absolute worst at planning positions in a sketchbook and his leg was going over the binding onto the next page aaaaah artist woes.
Been working working working on senior film things! This is Maurice, one of the main characters of my senior film in progress.
Maurice is my middle name, I am oh so creative at finals, guys.
Due to Tumblr’s recent ToS changes that freaked everyone out, I’m going to be temporarily removing most of my art from Tumblr and slowly slap a watermark on everything.
There’s a lot of iffiness going around about how Tumblr is out to steal all your art work and sell it, o noes!!! And while I’m more than aware that’s not true, it did make me realize I should probably be stamping my own work rather than letting it float around with nothing on it.
Anything left up for the moment will be mostly quick sketchy things or whatnot that I don’t value my career on. :)
But it will mostly all return, in time! Just going to take a bit to watermark… everything.
Scrolling through Tumblr and sketching the people in random photos I find that I think have lovely faces. Trying to fill a canvas with faces, expect a bigger upload sometime this weekend!
So after drawing that selkie a little over a week ago, I kept going back and fudging with it. Her design didn’t feel strong enough. So first I went with traditional seal appareance—the grey with spots. I spent quite a bit of time on it, and after finishing, it occurred to me it was very drab…and I was dying for some colour.
Then Molly happened. A friend sent me a photo of an east coast seal with a rather red fur, and decided to make a “Portland resident” selkie. I got the punch of colour I wanted finally, and I think the design finally got strong enough that I enjoy it!
I had been meaning to make a post and just. Kept forgetting.
Before that post (very surprisingly) went viral, I had around 100 followers, and now, as of writing this, I have 256. So hello all 156 new people! HOLY HECK.
If you’re staying for the long haul, I hope you enjoy my art! It’s the only thing that gets posted to this particular Tumblr. If you’re interested in more personal posts/random reblogging/nonsense, that is over at:
and my tumblr for art references and photos is
But yes! Hopefully you like the things I doodle and draw.
I’m still in shock. Thank you Tumblr! Thank you, all…at least 10k of you who reblogged my other post, I am in absolute disbelief still that it actually worked. And thank you semicharmedali for going on gut and passing it to Stephanie.
This is amazing and you’re all amazing and aaaaaaaaaaaaah Christmas came early.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
