Why is it always fire benders? Water benders can trap someone’s head in a bubble and drown them. Earth benders can sink your whole body into the ground like liquid and crush you.

The Muppets pay tribute to their creator, Jim Henson, who passed away 22 years ago this week.

I’m a little late on the Muppets wagon. I didn’t grow up with the original muppets—when I was a wee little Vee, they had the Muppet Babies cartoon and I loved it to death. But as for the original muppets, I’ve never sat down and watched an episode. I recently saw the movie from the 70s, and I’d love to see some of the episodes now…but I saw this tribute and started tearing up.

Lock Down:

This morning a gunman was running around downtown Savannah with a machine gun. Considering 95% of SCAD campus is in the downtown area, SCAD went on lock down and would not let students leave the buildings until the gunner was caught. Technically students were not allowed INTO buildings either, being told to stay where they were and not go outside. However I am hard headed, and was worried class wouldn’t actually be canceled, so I went ahead and went to Monty Hall, which is that 5% not in downtown. I came in the back door that the guards never pay attention to, and this scene of panic is what met me. I was greatly amused at the irony.

Papillon:

I remembered tonight that I had a tablet. And that I had not used said tablet in about six months. So I decided to pause from life for a bit and draw a favorite character of mine.

An animation assignment that I was fairly happy with! The project was a “head hit”, a relatively heavy hit from an object to show the reaction of the body. (Such as the bounce after the head hits the table.)

Fiona O’Malley:

Doing thumbnails for an animation for class. Nothing spectacular.

Chimera:

Another bit from the concept art contest. We had to create a beast “capable of destroying a village, and living on another decade.” You sort of got the hint that it was not actually an evil creature however, so I didn’t quite want to make it typical “evil disgusting creature.” We had to combine three existing animals into a chimera like form, so I ended up using giant anteater, gorilla, and moose. 

Shaman:

Went to a Concept Art Contest thing tonight! We were given a theme, and character ideas. I didn’t win anything, but I liked my designs enough to share. This one was an “ancient nomadic shaman, full of hatred and wild.”

Paris Catacombs:

I forgot to ever upload these! These are the comic pages I pulled out in like twelve hours. @_@ The draftsmanship suffered for it (the figures and faces drive me nutty), but overall I liked the flow of the panels. These are only …what? the second comics I’ve attempted to make? Considering I haven’t taken my “Intro to Sequential Art” class yet they’re not bad.

If I stopped following you, it’s because I’m just trying to clean up my dashboard. There’s a few things I look for when I check tumblr, and I was starting to get an excess of fandom posts and some drama. Mostly fandom posts.
